Sorry for the lack of posts. I’ve been attacked by the germ that seems to have knocked half of London for six over the past couple of weeks. Judging by the blog stats, which have dropped off over the last few days, most people have already packed up for Christmas or else they’re all in the pub drowning their sorrows like this lot.
Anyway, I hope to be back on form soon with a few final thoughts for this year.

Well “this lot” sound typical: we’ve already been told that next year’s Christmas party will be during office hours with no alcohol. We just won’t bother (mince pies and orange juice in the canteen doesn’t do it for me) – which accounts for the rather large booze bill at this year’s last hurrah.
Is your HR department aware of this widespread need for booze in your company? Do you have an alcohol dependence policy at your place?
I think your HR people should get you all some counselling so that you learn to love mince pies and orange juice in time for next Christmas.
Get better quickly and Merry Christmas to you, Rick.
Thanks, and the same to you James.
Hope you are feeling better soon. Happy Christmas!
Sorry you’re unwell. Hope you are managing to have a good Xmas, though.
I oce had a colleague who rather wryly observed that most cases of “winter man flu” seemed to break out when England cricket were touring overseas and laying on the sofa watching it was the only cure…
Jonathan, I’d love to have crashed out on the sofa to watch the cricket, with a medicinal glass of whisky. Unfortunately, there was too much to do before Christmas so I didn’t get chance.
