Bob Diamond, the head of Barclays’ investment banking division, must really love his job.
If someone gave me £22 million, that’s it, I’d be off before you could blink. With that sort of money I’d have enough to live on and to invest for the future. I would never again have to commute into London on a packed tube train, sit at a desk in front of a PC or spend hours in meetings writing on flip charts and watching Power-Point presentations.
Then again, perhaps some people just thrive on it.
